Join Librarian Robert Voyles to learn about the history of political parties in the United States from our founding to the current party system. We will examine the assortment of parties that have risen and fallen in our political history, their ideological origins, how their platforms developed over time, and the partisan struggles between them that shaped our political landscape.

“Voices and Votes: Democracy in America” is part of Museum on Main Street, a collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution and Florida Humanities.
